I have an AK 74, and I wanted to try being a support gunner. I remembered that I had 3 9.6v RC car batteries, all large connector. My AK is mini connector. Not a problem, I pulled the connector off another RC car battery. So now i have 2 connectors on my battery pack. The pack works in a 4.8v rc car, but not the gun. Likewise, the gun battery (8.4v 1500 mAh) won’t turn the motor on the car. Are the batteries wired in opposite polarities or what? They’re both NiCd batteries.
… I didn’t use a large to mini connector. I taped new wires on.

It should work. are you sure there isn’t a small in the large to small connector? I’m assuming that was how you were using it. The RC should at least run backwards, there is an anti reversal switch in the gun

I know I have used them both ways.

Some days ago I gave my car a new paint job from its manufactured ‘white’.

Tested it and some things went horrible incorrect resulting in breakages and the paint work getting horribly scratched.

After some repairs and finding out the problem, I set out to test it once again.
On full battery, the car will run for about 10 minutes. First 3 minutes is when it gets most of its speed and most fun. After that, it slows up rapidly eventually going like a slug.
